Description
In Carcassonne: The Gold Mines, a small but exciting expansion to the classic Carcassonne game, players get to experience a new level of strategy and fun. Designed by Klaus-Jürgen Wrede and released in 2012, this expansion is easy to learn and can be enjoyed by 2 to 6 players. The game introduces eight new landscape tiles featuring a gold bar, which are mixed with the other tiles and can be drawn by players during the game. When a player draws one of these tiles, they not only place the tile according to the normal rules but also get to place gold bars on the tile and any adjacent tiles, adding a new layer of excitement to the game. As players build their territories and complete features, the gold bars come into play, offering a new way to earn points. The player with the majority of followers on a completed feature gets to collect all the gold bars, while tied players share them. At the end of the game, any unclaimed gold bars are removed, and each player's collected gold bars are worth points, with the value increasing depending on the number of bars collected. With its simple yet engaging gameplay, Carcassonne: The Gold Mines is a great addition to the Carcassonne series, offering a fresh twist on the classic game and hours of fun for players of all levels.
