In Stone Age: The Mammoth Herd, a thrilling expansion to the classic Stone Age game, you'll have the opportunity to tame a passing mammoth herd and harness their power to build your village. With 2 to 4 players, you'll embark on a journey that's easy to learn but full of exciting challenges, all within 50 to 80 minutes of playtime. Designed by Bernd Brunnhofer, this 2017 expansion brings a fresh layer of strategy to the original game, combining seamlessly with the base game and other expansions. As you set up the game, you'll shuffle 16 bonus tiles and place them face down next to the board, with the stand-up Mammoth herd figure waiting to be placed on the resource shown by the top-most tile. Each round, the start player places the mammoth herd on a new resource, and you'll have the chance to move your people figures to the bonus tile to try and tame a mammoth. With the mammoth herd by your side, you'll roll the dice and take resources as usual, but then you'll have the opportunity to move your people to the bonus tile and try to tame a mammoth, all for the cost of 1 food per figure. If you're successful, you'll win a bonus, and the player with the most bonus tiles at the end of the game will score 10 points. The gameplay is unchanged, except for the exciting new mechanics introduced by the mammoth herd. You'll still place your people, roll the dice, and collect resources, but now you'll have the added challenge and reward of trying to tame the mammoths. With its easy-to-learn rules and engaging gameplay, Stone Age: The Mammoth Herd is a great addition to the Stone Age series, offering a fun and strategic experience for fans of the original game.
