Description

In Abeja Reina, or Queen Bee, two players engage in a strategic battle of wits, moving their bee pieces around a hexagonal grid to outmaneuver their opponent. The game takes place on a shared hive board, where players start on opposite sides with a trench between them, and the goal is simple: be the first to eliminate the opponent's queen bee. With easy-to-learn rules, this 15-minute game is perfect for a quick showdown, and its abstract strategy mechanics will keep you on your toes. As you move your bees around the board, you'll need to think carefully about your next step, using the unique abilities of your queen, workers, and drones to outflank your opponent. The trench between the two starting sides adds an extra layer of complexity, as pieces can be pinned and eliminated in clever combinations. With its simple yet engaging gameplay, Abeja Reina is a great choice for fans of strategic games, and its short playtime makes it easy to fit in a game or two whenever you want. Designed by Jesús Sánchez Páez and first published in 2013, Abeja Reina is a fun and challenging game that's sure to appeal to players looking for a quick and exciting abstract strategy experience.
