Description
In Academic Society, you lead a faction within a 17th century academic society, striving to earn prestige through your studies. As a leader, you must balance various tasks to maintain influence in the sciences, such as completing royal commissions, presenting findings at conferences, and taking sabbaticals to gather knowledge abroad. With 2 to 4 players competing, you'll need to manage your scholars wisely to emerge victorious. The game's worker placement mechanics allow you to place your scholars on action spaces to perform main and bonus actions, while also managing influence tracks and sabbatical tracks on your player board. With a playtime of 50 to 100 minutes, you'll need to anticipate your opponents' moves and make strategic decisions to earn the most prestige and expand your faction, all set against the backdrop of the Age of Reason in this 2021 game designed by Masaki Suga.
