Description

Amoeba is a strategic board game designed by Masahiro Nakajima, first published in 2010, that pits two players against each other in a battle of wits. With a playtime of just 15 minutes, it's the perfect game for a quick showdown, and its normal complexity rules make it easy for board game enthusiasts to pick up. The game takes place on a hex board, where each player has ten standard pieces and one Kernel piece, and the goal is to outmaneuver your opponent by controlling the stack with their Kernel or taking away all their possible moves. As players take turns moving their pieces, they can choose to move them individually or stack them up to control more space on the board. The twist is that stacks can be split or moved together, and the player who controls the top piece of a stack gets to decide its movements. With no option to pass, players must think carefully about each move, trying to outsmart their opponent and gain the upper hand. The game requires strategic thinking and planning ahead, making it a fun and challenging experience for fans of abstract strategy games. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or just looking for a new challenge, Amoeba is a great choice for a fun and intense gaming session.
