Description
In Aqua, you and your opponent take on the roles of curators tasked with creating the most impressive water-themed exhibit at your art museum. With simple rules that can be explained quickly, you'll be diving into the action in no time. The game is all about strategic placement of painting cards, with each card being placed face down if it's adjacent to a face-up card, and vice versa. As the game progresses, face-down cards are flipped face up when surrounded, and the introduction of face-up boats allows players to move visitor tokens and earn points. As you take turns placing cards, you'll need to think carefully about how to align them to maximize your score. The goal is to create sets of matching icons and numbers in each row or column, with the twist that one player scores the columns at the end of the game, while the other scores the rows. But be careful not to concentrate too much power in one line, as only lines valued from 10-20 points will score. With a playtime of just 15-20 minutes, Aqua is a quick and engaging game that's perfect for two players looking for a fun and challenging experience. Designed by Ta-Te Wu and published in 2024, Aqua is a great addition to any board game collection, offering a unique blend of hand management, set collection, and tile placement mechanics.
