Description

In the depths of the ocean, a new frontier of exploration and exploitation has emerged, and you're at the helm of a corporation ready to dive in. Deep Shelf, designed by Richard Keene and published in 2023, is a game of strategic decision-making, where you'll navigate the delicate balance between extracting rare earth metals and preserving the fragile ecosystem of the deep sea. As you delve deeper into the unknown, you'll encounter strange and exotic lifeforms, and you'll have to decide how to approach them - will you prioritize profit over preservation, or take a more cautious, eco-friendly approach? With 1 to 4 players, and a playtime of 90 to 140 minutes, Deep Shelf is a game that requires careful planning and management, as you balance the needs of your corporation with the risks of damaging the ocean's ecosystem. The game's complex rules and mechanics, including end game bonuses, market fluctuations, and tech trees, will challenge even the most experienced players. But with great risk comes great reward, and the potential for discovery and profit is vast. Will you emerge as the leader of the ocean's new gold rush, or will your corporation succumb to the dangers of the deep? With Deep Shelf, you'll have the chance to find out, and to explore the uncharted depths of the ocean in a game that's as much about strategy as it is about discovery.
