Description

Demigods is a fast-paced and strategic card game designed by the renowned Reiner Knizia, released in 2022. In this game, 3 to 8 players take turns training heroes by pairing demigod cards with artifact cards, each with its own strength value and potential modifiers. The goal is not to create the strongest combination, but rather the weakest, as the player with the lowest total value wins the pot. With a simple set of rules that can be explained quickly, players can dive right into the action, which typically lasts around 20 minutes. The game is all about betting and bluffing, as players take turns adding to the pot, passing, or folding their hands. Each round, a starting pot of 1 Aischune is created, and players can choose to add more Aischune to the pot, knock on the table to stay in without raising, or discard their cards to fold. The first player to fold gains 3 Aischune, while subsequent folders receive 2 Aischune. As the rounds progress, players must carefully manage their Aischune, aiming to collect at least 30 to end the game. The player with the fewest Aischune at the end of the game is declared the winner, making for a thrilling and unpredictable experience. With its unique blend of strategy and social interaction, Demigods is perfect for large groups of friends or family members looking for a fun and engaging game night experience. The game's short playtime and simple rules make it easy to learn and play, while the betting and bluffing mechanics add a layer of complexity and excitement. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or just looking for a new game to try, Demigods is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a lighthearted and entertaining experience.
