Description

Picture a frantic scramble through a chaotic battlefield, but instead of rolling dice and arguing over rules, you’re all huddled together, cards in hand, trying to outwit a relentless horde that just won’t quit. Escape the Horde drops you and five of your friends (anywhere from three to seven can join) into a fast‑paced, cooperative card‑driving showdown where the only thing you need to master is teamwork and a quick glance at your hand. Designed by Todd Stewart (II) and fresh out of the 2023 press, the game is built for speed: you’ll learn the rules faster than you can say “horde,” and then you’ll be diving into rounds that last anywhere from five to half an hour, depending on how daring (or cautious) your group feels. What makes Escape the Horde a blast is how it blends the tension of a survival scenario with the simplicity of a card game. Each turn you and your allies decide together which cards to play, whether you’re bolstering defenses, swapping positions, or pulling off a daring escape route. The mechanics are lean—no massive rulebooks, just enough strategy to keep you on your toes and enough chaos to make every game feel fresh. Because you’re all in it together, the triumph of slipping past the horde feels like a shared victory, and the occasional “oops, we missed that monster” moment turns into laughter around the table. Grab the deck, rally your crew, and see if you can outsmart the onslaught before the clock runs out—because in Escape the Horde, the only thing faster than the game is the fun.
