Description

Get ready to explode your way to victory in Exploding Words, a fast-paced word game designed by Joshua Mason. In this quick 30-minute game, 2 to 4 players compete to create the highest-scoring words from a deck of 69 letter cards. The game is easy to learn, with simple rules that can be explained in no time, making it accessible to players of all ages and skill levels. Each player starts with a 7-card hand, and over 5 rounds, they draw and discard cards to build their word arsenal. As players lay down their words, things can get explosive - literally. Kaboom cards can be played to blow up an opponent's word, or to sabotage your own word and save the rest of your hand. But beware, if you're holding a Kaboom card and don't use it, your entire hand will explode, leaving you with zero points. The game continues until one player reaches a total score of 100 or more, at which point they're declared the winner. With its unique blend of set collection, spelling, and take-that mechanics, Exploding Words is a thrilling game that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Published in 2021, this base game is a must-play for fans of word games and card games alike.
