Description

In Genotype, you play as assistants to Gregor Mendel, competing to collect experimental data on pea plants by controlling how they inherit key traits from their parents. The game is all about understanding the relationship between a plant's genetic makeup and its observable characteristics. You'll collect Pea Plant Cards showing the traits you want to produce, such as pink flowers or tall height, and score points by completing these cards through a combination of dice rolling and strategic planning. As you play, you'll take turns drafting dice to complete your Pea Plant Cards or advance your research, using techniques like Punnett Squares to influence the likelihood of rolling the traits you need. With each round consisting of worker placement, dice drafting, and upgrades, you'll need to balance your actions to maximize your points. The game is easy to learn for board game fans, and with playtime ranging from 45 to 90 minutes, it's a fun and educational experience for 1 to 5 players.
