Description

German Whist is a fantastic two-player card game that's easy to learn and plays out in just 20 minutes. The rules are simple to pick up, making it a great introduction to trick-taking games like Whist or Bridge. The game is divided into two halves, with the first part focusing on improving your hand through a series of tricks. Here's how it works: only half the deck is dealt, and you play 13 non-scoring tricks to determine how the top two cards of the draw deck are dealt to you and your opponent. The winner of each trick gets the top card, which is revealed before the trick is played, while the loser gets the second, hidden card. This clever mechanic adds a fun layer of strategy to the game, as you try to outmaneuver your opponent to get the best cards. The second half of the game is all about playing out your hand, using the cards you've collected to outscore your opponent. With its quick playtime and easy-to-learn rules, German Whist is a great way to dip your toes into the world of trick-taking games. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, German Whist is a fun and engaging game that's perfect for a quick match with a friend.
