Description

IKI: Akebono is the exciting new expansion to the IKI board game, designed by Koota Yamada and released in 2023. This expansion introduces a fresh location to explore, the bridge of Nihonbashi, which opens up the main street and offers a wealth of new opportunities for players to discover. With the ability to stop at the bridge, players can meet and interact with famous personalities from the Edo era, such as Hokusai Katsushika, Sanyo Rai, or Tokunai Mogami, and even trade with the ships they've built that are sailing in the river. As an expansion, IKI: Akebono adds a whole new layer of strategic depth to the game, with new character cards, building cards, and tokens for pipes, tobacco, and fish. These additions give players more options and decisions to make, allowing them to develop their own unique strategies and approaches to the game. With a playtime of 60 to 90 minutes and a normal level of complexity, IKI: Akebono is perfect for 2 to 4 players who are familiar with board games and looking for a fun and challenging experience. The game's blend of card drafting, pattern building, point to point movement, and set collection mechanics makes for a engaging and immersive experience that will keep players coming back for more.
