Description

In kCaloria, you'll embark on a thrilling adventure to build a thriving ecosystem, navigating the intricate web of a food chain. With each turn, you'll have the chance to place tiles that will bring your ecosystem to life, from the simplest plants and fungi to a diverse array of herbivores, omnivores, carnivores, and even humans. The goal is to create a delicate balance, where every species plays a vital role in the grand symphony of your food chain. As you expand your ecosystem, you'll need to overcome obstacles and challenges that arise, making every decision count in your quest for dominance. As a game of abstract strategy, kCaloria requires you to think critically and plan ahead. You'll need to construct your deck, placing tiles in just the right order to maximize your score. The game's hexagon grid and tile placement mechanics add a fun and dynamic twist, as you build and shape your ecosystem. With its normal complexity level, kCaloria is accessible to anyone familiar with board games, making it an excellent choice for players looking for a new challenge. Whether you're playing solo or with up to three friends, you can expect a playtime of 20 to 60 minutes, giving you ample time to immerse yourself in the world of kCaloria. Released in 2024, kCaloria is the brainchild of game designer Matthias Bowman, who has crafted an engaging and educational experience that's just as fun as it is challenging. As you compete to build the most complex and thriving ecosystem, you'll learn about the interconnectedness of species and the importance of balance in nature. With its unique blend of territory building, deck construction, and strategic planning, kCaloria is an absolute must-try for fans of abstract strategy and animal-themed games.
