Description
Get ready for a tense and tactical showdown in Living Forest Duel, a game designed by Aske Christiansen and published in 2025. In this 20-minute game for two players, you'll face off as the spirits of Summer and Winter, each striving to save the sacred forest and be recognized as its ultimate protector. The rules are easy to learn, making it simple to dive into the world of ancient mythology and fantasy. Your goal is to be the first to achieve one of the four victory conditions, whether that's planting a 3x3 rectangle of Guardian Tree cards, having only cards of your season on the recruitment line, collecting 8 Fire tokens, or moving the Onibi creature to your opponent's side. As you play, you'll take alternating turns drawing guardian animal cards and using action tokens to recruit animals, extinguish fires, plant trees, and advance Onibi towards your opponent. But be careful - revealing too many solitary animals can be detrimental, and losing an action token can significantly reduce your ability to act. With its unique blend of advantage tokens, push your luck, race, and tile placement mechanics, Living Forest Duel is a thrilling game that's all about strategy and tactical decision-making. No prior knowledge of the Living Forest series is required, so you can jump right in and start playing. With its short playtime and easy-to-learn rules, Living Forest Duel is the perfect game for a quick and exciting showdown with a friend.
