Description
Mansions of Madness: The Laboratory is a thrilling expansion that drops you into the eerie world of H.P. Lovecraft's horror mythos. It's been two months since your friend, Dr. Crawford Tillinghast, kicked you out of his lab in a fit of rage, and now you're back to stop him from unleashing a machine that could merge our world with another dimension, bringing unspeakable horrors with it. You and up to four friends will have to explore Tillinghast's creepy mansion, closing portals to other realms and collecting clues to shut down the machine before it's too late. As you navigate the modular board, you'll encounter all manner of otherworldly terrors, from monsters to mysterious events, and you'll need to use your wits and whatever tools you can find to survive. The game is designed for people familiar with board games, and the rules are straightforward, so you can dive right in and start playing. With a playtime of around 120 to 180 minutes, you'll have plenty of time to get caught up in the action and suspense. The game's cooperative nature means you'll be working together with your friends, using your unique player powers to overcome the challenges that lie ahead. The Laboratory is part of the Mansions of Madness series, and it's designed by Samuel Bailey and Richard Launius, the creator of Arkham Horror. This expansion is inspired by the themes and characters of From Beyond, one of H.P. Lovecraft's most terrifying short stories, and it's full of the same themes and mechanics that make Mansions of Madness so much fun. With its mix of area movement, dice rolling, and role-playing, The Laboratory is a fantastically free-form adventure that's sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. Will you be able to shut down Tillinghast's machine and save the world, or will you succumb to the horrors that lurk in the shadows? There's only one way to find out.
