Description

Politics as Usual is a hilarious and fast-paced card game where 2 to 6 players take on the role of presidential candidates, battling it out to win the most votes and claim the Oval Office. With a playtime of just 60 minutes, this game is perfect for a fun and lighthearted evening with friends. The rules are easy to learn, making it accessible to new players, and the game's designer, Dan Verssen, has done a great job of balancing simplicity with depth. Players must navigate the challenges of campaigning, using hand management and trading skills to gain an edge over their opponents. As players collect votes and favors, they can use their Candidate card's special ability to influence the game. The introduction of "Favor" points adds a whole new level of strategy, as players can trade these points with each other to gain an advantage. The twist is that only favors earned from other players count as votes at the end of the game, making alliances and deal-making a crucial part of the game. With its humorous take on American politics, Politics as Usual is a game that will have you laughing and scheming your way to the top. Published in 2005, this base game has stood the test of time, and its unique blend of card game mechanics and political satire makes it a must-play for fans of humor and strategy.
