Description

In Puerto Rico, you'll take on the role of a colonial governor on the island, aiming to amass victory points by shipping goods to Europe or constructing buildings. With a playtime of 90 to 150 minutes, this game is perfect for a group of 2 to 5 players looking for a fun and challenging experience. Designed by Andreas Seyfarth and published in 2007, Puerto Rico has become a classic in the world of board games, with a normal level of complexity that's easy to learn for those familiar with board games. As you play, you'll use a separate small board to manage your city buildings, plantations, and resources, while sharing ships, a trading house, and resources with other players. The game's variable phase order mechanic adds a layer of strategy, as you take turns selecting role cards and performing actions. With 14 additional buildings to discover, you'll need to balance growing crops, exchanging them for points or doubloons, and using those doubloons to buy buildings that give you new abilities. As the game unfolds, you'll earn victory points for owning buildings, shipping goods, and constructing large buildings, all while trying to outmaneuver your opponents and emerge victorious. With its unique blend of city building, economic, and farming mechanics, Puerto Rico is a game that will keep you engaged and entertained from start to finish.
