Description
In Río de la Plata, you'll take on the role of a chief of a Spanish settler family in Buenos Aires, working together with other players to defend and develop the city. But don't get too comfortable, as you'll also be competing to gain prestige and snag the top political offices for yourself. With a playtime of 90 minutes, this game is a fun and challenging way to spend an evening with friends or family, accommodating 2 to 5 players. As you navigate the complexities of city building and civilization growth, you'll need to master a range of game mechanics, from area majority and influence to auction and bidding, dice rolling, team-based gameplay, tile placement, and worker placement. Designed by Michele Quondam and first published in 2010, Río de la Plata is a strategic and engaging base game that's sure to keep you on your toes as you vie to become the new Governor of Buenos Aires.
