Skara Brae

Friends and Communities with Skara Brae

Description

Get ready to travel back in time to the Orkney Islands of Northern Scotland, around five thousand years ago, and experience life in the ancient community of Skara Brae. In this engaging board game, designed by Shem Phillips, you'll take on the role of a settler, working to gather resources to feed, clothe, and shelter your growing community. With a playtime of 45 to 60 minutes, Skara Brae is the perfect game for a fun and challenging evening with friends or family, supporting 1 to 4 players. As you play, you'll draft cards and use your workers to furnish, cook, craft, clean, and trade, all while managing the midden piles that will inevitably grow as you provide for your settlers. The game mechanics, including chaining, card drafting, and variable player powers, will keep you on your toes as you navigate the challenges of ancient life. With its normal complexity level, Skara Brae is easy to learn, even for those familiar with board games. After four rounds, the player with the most points will be declared the winner, but the real fun is in the journey, as you work to build a thriving community in this harsh but beautiful ancient landscape. Released in 2025, Skara Brae is a must-play for anyone interested in ancient history and strategy.
