Description
Skies Above the Reich is a thrilling board game that puts you in the cockpit of a Luftwaffe squadron of Bf109s, tasked with defending Germany against relentless daylight raids by the United States Army Air Force during World War II. As the player, you'll select pilots and attachments, such as gun pods or rockets, to take on the mighty "combat box" formation of B-17 Flying Fortresses. With each mission lasting around 30 to 60 minutes, you'll need to make strategic decisions to wreck the bomber formation as quickly as possible while keeping your pilots safe. The game follows the arc of the desperate air war from late 1942 to early 1945, with a series of missions that can be played as a campaign. As you progress, your pilots will gain experience and skills, but you'll also face the challenge of replacing downed or wounded pilots with new, inexperienced ones. With its unique blend of simulation, strategy, and solo gameplay, Skies Above the Reich offers a gripping and immersive experience for fans of aviation and World War II history.
