Description

Speculaas is a deliciously simple game that's all about collecting the right spices to make the perfect treats. As a pastry chef, you'll be competing against other players to score the most victory points by gathering Spice cards and matching them with Recipe cards. The game is easy to learn, with rules that can be explained quickly, making it accessible to players of all ages. With a playtime of just 20 minutes, you can squeeze in a game or two with friends and family, whether you're playing solo or with up to four other players. The game's mechanics, designed by Danijel Pošta, are all about drafting, hand management, and set collection, with a simultaneous action selection twist that keeps things exciting. As you collect and trade Spice cards, you'll need to think strategically about which recipes to aim for and how to outmaneuver your opponents. The game's theme is inspired by traditional spiced shortbread cookies from the Netherlands and Belgium, and the simple yet engaging gameplay makes it a great addition to any game night. Published in 2024, Speculaas is a great choice for anyone looking for a quick, fun, and easy-to-learn game that's perfect for a casual evening with friends or a family game night.
