Description

Subsistence is a fun and strategic board game that drops you into the world of prehistoric farming, where you'll need to manage your resources carefully to come out on top. With easy-to-learn rules, this game is perfect for 1 to 4 players looking for a quick but challenging experience that can be played in just 15 to 30 minutes. Designed by Chris Kennedy and published in 2022, Subsistence combines exciting game mechanics like action queue, income, card drafting, and tile placement to create a unique and engaging gameplay experience. As you play through the game, you'll select idol cards to gain benefits, add cards to your tableau, and place development tokens on your land cards to trigger even more benefits. With a focus on careful planning and progression rather than direct conflict, Subsistence is a great choice for players who enjoy thinking ahead and making strategic decisions. After just nine turns, the game comes to an end and points are scored based on your idols' unique criteria and the placement of your developments. The player with the highest score wins, so you'll need to stay focused and make the most of your resources to emerge victorious. Whether you're playing solo or with friends, Subsistence offers a growing depth of strategic decision-making that will keep you coming back for more.
