Description

The Chase of the Bismarck: Operation Rheinübung 1941 is a thrilling board game that drops you into the midst of World War II, where you'll take on the role of either the British Navy or the German Kriegsmarine. With a playtime of 120 to 360 minutes, you'll have plenty of time to immerse yourself in the game's intricate mechanics, which include hidden movement and simulation. The game is designed for 2 players, making it a great choice for a head-to-head battle of wits. As you navigate the complexities of naval warfare, you'll need to use your strategic thinking to outmaneuver your opponent and achieve your goals. As you play, you'll experience the operational and tactical aspects of the game, from secretly moving your ships and air units to calling out zones to locate your opponent's vessels. When enemy ships are discovered in the same zone, the game shifts to a tactical battle on the Battle Board, where you'll engage in a simplified yet intense combat system. The game's outcome is far from certain, with the Bismarck's fate hanging in the balance - will it be sunk, or will it make it to a friendly port? With its normal complexity level, this game is accessible to board game enthusiasts, and its 2022 release brings a fresh take on a pivotal moment in history, courtesy of designers Jack Greene and Patrick Gebhardt.
