Description

In The Great Depression: The New Deal, you'll take on the role of a governor of a state hit hard by the economic downturn of the 1930s. Your goal is to implement programs and build infrastructure to boost your state's morale and income, all while navigating the challenges of debt and limited resources. With simple rules that can be explained quickly, 2 to 5 players can dive into this economic and educational game, competing to earn the most victory points within 60 minutes. As you play, you'll draft cards to build programs like the Civilian Conservation Corps and the Civil Works Administration, each with its own benefits and drawbacks. You'll need to balance your budget, taking on debt to fund your initiatives while trying to keep your finances in check. Will you focus on building major civil works projects like the Hoover Dam, or will you prioritize raising your income and morale? The game is designed by Daniel Kam-Gordon and offers a unique blend of card drafting and worker placement mechanics, making each playthrough a fresh challenge. With its educational and political themes, The Great Depression: The New Deal is a game that's both fun and thought-provoking, and its short playtime makes it easy to fit into a busy schedule.
