Description

The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – Nightmare Deck: Return to Mirkwood is a thrilling expansion that throws players back into the world of Middle-earth, but this time with a dark and terrifying twist. Designed for 1 to 2 players, this cooperative game challenges you to work together to overcome the deadly enemies and ominous locations that lurk in the shadows of Mirkwood. With a playtime of 60 minutes, you'll be on the edge of your seat as you navigate the treacherous encounter deck, using hand management and variable player powers to survive the nightmarish journey. As a Nightmare Deck, this expansion introduces 20 new encounter cards that reshape the original Return to Mirkwood scenario, making it feel fresh and exciting all over again. The game's normal complexity means that fans of board games will have no trouble learning the rules, but be prepared for a challenge as the Nightmare Mode card and additional game rules add a new layer of difficulty to the game. Published in 2013 and designed by Nate French, this expansion is a must-have for fans of The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game, offering a new and exciting way to experience the world of Middle-earth.
