Description
Tolerance is a game of deduction and strategy, where 3 to 5 players take on roles with asymmetric information, navigating the complex web of medieval politics and religion. Set in 16th and early 17th century Reformation England, players are immersed in the conflict between Catholics and Protestants, with each side vying for power and influence. The game's trick-taking mechanic adds a layer of excitement and unpredictability, as the winner of each trick gets to perform the actions on the played cards - which may or may not be beneficial to their cause. As players make their way through the game, which typically lasts between 60 to 90 minutes, they'll need to balance their short-term goals with long-term strategies, all while keeping an eye on the end game bonuses that can make or break their chances of success. With its normal complexity rules, Tolerance is accessible to fans of board games, and its themes of politics, religion, and tolerance are just as relevant today as they were centuries ago. Designed by Ren Multamäki and Tony Cotterill, and published in 2023, Tolerance offers a unique and engaging gaming experience that's perfect for a night in with friends, with plenty of opportunities for multiple plays and replayability.
