Description

In the world of Verrat, the Sultan's throne room is abuzz with intrigue and deception. Twelve Vizirs, seemingly loyal and devoted, surround the omnipotent ruler, but each has a secret agenda - to overthrow the Sultan and seize power for themselves. As one of four players, you'll navigate the complex web of court politics, sending your Vizirs to distant cities to gather troops, weapons, and bribes in the form of Power cards. But be warned, absence from court can be detrimental, as it reduces your Vizir's influence and makes them vulnerable to intrigue and suspicion. As you manage your Vizirs, you'll need to balance their time away from court with the need to maintain their influence and importance. A strategic return to court is crucial, as you'll want to secure the best seat, preferably one with a large number of votes. The game demands intelligent maneuvering, as you'll need to outwit your opponents and stay one step ahead in the struggle for subversion. With easy-to-learn rules, Verrat is an accessible game that's perfect for those who enjoy a mix of strategy and social interaction. Designed by Tom Kremer and first published in 1999, Verrat has been delighting players for years with its unique blend of secret unit deployment, set collection, and simultaneous action selection. In this 60-minute game, you'll need to stay focused and adapt to the ever-changing landscape of the court. With the right combination of skill and luck, you'll be the one to emerge victorious, having successfully navigated the treacherous waters of palace politics. Will you be the one to overthrow the Sultan and claim the throne, or will your opponents outmaneuver you? In Verrat, only the most cunning and strategic player will reign supreme, so gather your friends and get ready to experience the thrill of courtly intrigue and deception.
