Description

In Zanzibar, a game designed by Franz-Benno Delonge and published in 2007, you'll embark on a thrilling adventure with 2 to 5 players, navigating the islands and seas to fulfill tasks and accumulate points. With a playtime of just 45 minutes, this economic game is easy to learn, making it accessible to new players. Each player starts with a similar deck of 10 tasks, but only holds two cards at a time, adding a layer of strategy to the game. You'll also have a set of merchants, each with unique characteristics, such as different heights and numbers, which will be distributed across the game board. As you play, you'll need to decide which tasks to prioritize, taking into account the strengths and weaknesses of your merchants. Smaller merchants are faster, while larger ones are stronger and can displace others. Points are awarded based on how well you complete tasks, but be careful - rejecting a task or scoring quickly, even with negative points, can sometimes be the best move to get ahead and force the game to its end. With its pick-up and deliver mechanics, Zanzibar requires a balance of short-term and long-term planning. The game ends when one player completes a set number of tasks, and the player with the most points emerges victorious. With its simple rules and engaging gameplay, Zanzibar is a great choice for anyone looking for a fun and challenging economic game.
