Description

Picture yourself strolling through the bustling streets of the Song Dynasty, lanterns flickering, merchants shouting their wares, and the whole city humming with the excitement of the New Year. In 大宋百商图：过年好！ (A Dream of Splendor in Song Dynasty: Happy New Year!), you and up to three buddies get to become the shrewdest traders and city‑builders in a race to turn humble stalls into a glittering metropolis. The rules are so easy you can have a quick demo over a cup of tea, but once the game kicks off the choices start to feel as juicy as a fresh dumpling. You’ll draft cards, pull resources from a bag, and grow your own little pool of wealth, all while juggling loans and clever multi‑use cards that let you flip the board’s fortunes in a snap. Random events pop up like surprise fireworks, nudging you to shift strategies, and every turn you can pump up the value of those resources you *didn’t* pick—so even the stuff you leave behind can turn into a secret ace. Designed by Johnny Chen and fresh out of 2024, this 60‑minute showdown blends city building, medieval flavor, and solid economic tactics without ever getting bogged down. Whether you’re a seasoned tabletop veteran or just looking for a breezy, competitive game to ring in the holidays, the mix of deck‑building, bag pulls, and fast‑paced drafting makes every session feel like a bustling market day you’ll want to revisit again and again. Grab a seat at the table, roll the dice of destiny, and see who can shout “过年好!” the loudest as their empire lights up the night.
