Pick your start page πŸ›¬

Kallax.io launched in March 2021 with one simple idea, what if I could search across all my friends collections at once? That would make it easier to plan what to bring and borrow games.

The idea has since grown to include game event planning, communities, exploration, chats and extra tools.

Yet /search remained front and center, until today! You can now select your preferred home page on /settings.

The setting is stored per device, so you can for example have your desktop land on /explore and mobile on /feed

This feature is also part of the (web)app.

Explore πŸ—ΊοΈ

The event and community overview pages has been updated.

Events are archived events are now all shown on /explore/events and includes events that your friends are going to.

Similarly /explore/communities has been updated to also show communities that your friends are part of, if those are marked as listed.

The world map overview now lives on /explore and includes both communities and events.

Chat πŸ“’

Participants in communities or events are now automatically subscribed to the chat. Previously they would have to interact with the chat to subscribe.

This is meant as a way for the community manager or event host to relay messages to all participants.

Adding a chat component also automatically subscribes all participants so you can send out information to everyone.

People can still mute and unsubscribe.

Plays πŸ“

Minor update to plays. Previously we automatically marked the first play of a person as 'First time playing' but this was in my experience often wrong. It was just the first logged play.

We now ask after finishing a play if that was the first time the person played the game, if we don't have any play logs on record for the player in the specific game.

Minor changes 🀏

  • Changed how we handle pre-rendering when navigating from another site
  • The browser back button now behaves as the in-app back button does
  • Fixed an issue that cause event pages to serve anonymous view
