We introduced chats for board game events and communities last year. While useful for coordinating, it was a bit cumbersome to keep checking back on event or community pages to see if anyone had written something new in that chat. Especially when managing multiple board game events and communities.

That changes with the new /chats page. It displays a list of all conversations you've been active in and alerts you with a notification whenever there's a new message. You can also mute or leave a chat at any time. Note that sending a message in a chat will rejoin it.

Besides community chats and game event chats, we are also introducing private messaging. If you go to the public profile of a user you are already friends with, you can send them a message using the chat button right under their avatar. Enjoy!
