Museum: The Archaeologists is an exciting expansion to the popular Museum board game, designed by Eric Dubus and Olivier Melison, and first released in 2018. This expansion adds a new layer of strategy and interaction to the game, as players take on the role of curators sending archaeologists out into the world to retrieve precious artifacts for their museums. With two to four players, the game is perfect for a fun and social evening with friends, and with a playtime of just 30 to 60 minutes, you can easily fit in a game or two. In Museum: The Archaeologists, players must carefully choose which continents to send their archaeologists to, as funding these expeditions can be costly. However, if you don't have an agent on site, you won't be able to bring back any artifacts from that continent - unless you can persuade one of your competitors to lend a hand, that is. The expansion's board features spaces for each continent, where you can place your agent meeples to represent the expeditions you're sending out. You can start by placing one agent on any continent for free, and then pay to send additional archaeologists to a given continent to gain extra bonuses, such as prestige points when you draw a card. As you build your network of archaeologists, you'll need to balance the costs and benefits of sending out additional agents. Each new agent you send to a continent costs more than the last, but if you're the first to establish a full network of three agents, you'll reap a significant reward. Even the second player to achieve this feat will get a smaller bonus, so there's still plenty to play for. With its easy-to-learn rules and engaging gameplay, Museum: The Archaeologists is a great addition to the Museum series, and is sure to add a new level of excitement and challenge to your gaming sessions.
