Description

In the realm of Nordic mythology, 2 to 4 players take on the roles of jarls, rulers of Viking villages, and embark on an epic journey through the nine worlds of Yggdrasil to reach the hallowed halls of Asgard. With a call to adventure from the Norse gods, they set off with a handful of inexperienced villagers, ready to face the thrills and dangers that await them on land and sea. As they travel, they'll encounter new allies, mysterious places, and the favor of the gods, all while battling formidable foes and avoiding perilous obstacles. The game is a mesmerizing blend of deck, bag, and pool building, as well as scenario-based gameplay, where players simultaneously select their actions to navigate the challenges of each adventure. With a modular structure, the game can be expanded and tailored to the players' preferences, introducing new rules and complexity as they progress. A total of 35 different adventures can be combined in various ways, allowing players to adjust the difficulty level and gameplay duration to suit their taste. The atmospheric illustrations by Michael Menzel bring the legends of Nordic mythology to life, with 34 unique Viking characters and a wealth of secrets and mythical creatures to discover. As players progress through the eight adventures, they'll collect gold, earn glory, and recruit new Vikings with enhanced skills to join their quest. The game's deck-building mechanism allows players to strengthen their chances of success, and the Vikings who prove themselves in battle can be sent to Walhalla, creating a secondary deck of cards that can provide crucial assistance in the final, decisive adventure at the rainbow bridge Bifröst. With its easy-to-learn rules and immersive gameplay, Die Wikinger Saga offers 60 to 90 minutes of thrilling adventure, strategy, and exploration, inviting players to delve into the rich world of Nordic mythology and emerge victorious in the end.
