Combat Commander: Mediterranean is an expansion to the critically acclaimed Combat Commander: Europe, and it's a must-have for fans of the series. This game adds three new nationalities to the mix: Britain and the Commonwealth, France and the Allied Minors, and Italy and the Axis Minors. Each of these new nationalities comes with its own unique Fate Deck, which highlights their historical strengths and weaknesses. For example, the British have a higher marksmanship rating, giving them fewer but more accurate shots, while the Italians have a higher likelihood of surrender when their units are broken. The game includes 12 new historical scenarios, each one featuring at least one of the new nationalities, as well as an updated Random Scenario Generator that incorporates the new nationalities and maps. This generator allows for a huge amount of replayability, with almost endless combinations of map configurations, force structures, and combat situations. Players can also create their own scenarios and Orders of Battle using the assigned point values for all units, weapons, and fortifications. With its normal complexity level, Combat Commander: Mediterranean is easy to learn for people familiar with board games, and the gameplay is engaging and challenging, making it a great experience for 2 players over the course of about 120 minutes. As an expansion, Combat Commander: Mediterranean is not a stand-alone game, and you'll need to own Combat Commander: Europe to play it. But for fans of the series, it's a no-brainer. The game comes with a range of components, including large and small counters, cards, maps, player aid cards, and a comprehensive Playbook and Rulebook. With its unique blend of simulation, strategy, and historical accuracy, Combat Commander: Mediterranean is a game that can be revisited time and time again, each with a new tale to tell.
