Description
Castle Itter is a solo board game where you take on the role of the defenders of an Austrian castle in the last days of World War II. Your goal is to survive the assault from the 17th SS Panzergrenadier Division from 0400 to 1600 on May 5, 1945. You control a group of defenders, including US soldiers, Wehrmacht infantrymen, and others, as they work together to hold off the enemy. The game is easy to learn and plays out over 45 to 60 minutes, with each turn consisting of two phases: the Defender Phase, where you take five actions with your defenders, and the SS Phase, where you draw and resolve three SS cards, which can attack your defenders, disrupt their actions, or place enemy counters on the board. Your score is based on the number of defenders that survive and the number of enemy counters that are left on the board at the end of the game.
