Description

Gettysburg: The Wheatfield is a historical miniatures board game that drops you into the midst of one of the American Civil War's most pivotal battles. Designed by Hermann Luttmann and published in 2011, this game is part of the Tattered Flags series, which aims to bring the excitement of miniature war gaming to a wider audience. In Gettysburg: The Wheatfield, you'll control either Union or Confederate forces as they clash over the strategically crucial Wheatfield on July 2nd, 1863. With its normal complexity rules, this game is accessible to anyone familiar with board games, and its playtime of 120 to 180 minutes allows for a fully immersive experience. As a game, Gettysburg: The Wheatfield offers a unique blend of dice rolling and simulation mechanics, making each battle feel dynamic and unpredictable. The game comes with colorful cardboard counters, known as Stands, which represent units of soldiers or artillery, as well as a beautifully printed battlefield map. Three scenarios are included, ranging from an introductory scenario to a historical recreation of the actual battle and a hypothetical what-if engagement. Whether you're a history buff, a fan of strategy games, or just looking for a challenging and engaging experience, Gettysburg: The Wheatfield has something to offer, and its suitability for solo play means you can enjoy it even when playing alone.
