Description

Gyges is a simple yet strategic board game designed by Claude Leroy, first published in 1985. The game is easy to learn, making it accessible to players of all skill levels. In this abstract strategy game, two players compete to move a piece to their opponent's last row on a square grid. The twist is that no one owns the pieces, and you can only move a piece in the row nearest to you. The game pieces, made up of 1, 2, or 3 rings, determine how many spaces they can move, adding a layer of complexity to the game. If a piece lands on another, it can move the number of spaces equal to that piece's rings and even displace it. With a playtime of just 15 minutes, Gyges is a quick and engaging game that challenges players to think ahead and outmaneuver their opponent.
