Description
In Hispaniola, 3 to 5 players take on the role of pirate leaders, vying for the top spots on a fleet of five ships. The goal is simple: become the captain and reap the rewards of the loot. The game is easy to learn, with a traditional trick-taking mechanic that's quick to pick up. Players are dealt a hand of cards, and after determining the trump color, the game begins. As players win tricks, they place their sailors on the corresponding ship, potentially bumping other players' sailors overboard. Those stranded sailors aren't out of the game, though - they'll seek refuge on an island, where they might even get hired again. At the end of the 30-minute game, points are tallied, with captains and sailors on ships earning points, while those stranded on islands lose points. With its simple rules and pirate-themed fun, Hispaniola is a great choice for a quick and exciting game night.
