Description

Tarawa 1943 is a solitaire wargame that drops you into the intense invasion of Japanese-controlled Tarawa by the 2nd Marine Division. As the USMC player, you'll activate one of your eight battalions each turn, using action points to move, attack, and regroup. You'll also have a hand of cards that can be played to bring in extra resources like naval support, air support, and tanks. The game is driven by a card engine that ensures no two plays are the same, with the Japanese turn bringing a range of challenges from fire attacks to banzai charges. Your goal is to take the island as quickly as possible while minimizing casualties, just like the real-life invasion that was a crucial part of the US island-hopping strategy. With easy-to-learn rules and a playtime of just 30 to 60 minutes, Tarawa 1943 is a thrilling and immersive experience that's perfect for solo players looking for a challenge.
