Description

It's 100 A.D. and Rome is at the height of its power, with Emperor Trajan leading the charge in a period of great military expansion. But behind the scenes, a secret cabal of players is vying for control of the Senate, seeking to gain the Emperor's favor and rule from the shadows. In this game, 3 to 6 players take on the roles of these power-hungry individuals, navigating a complex web of alliances, corruption, and influence to emerge victorious. With a playtime of 30 to 90 minutes, players must carefully manage their actions, using hand management and card drafting to accumulate victory points. As players take turns, they can choose to control the Emperor's Favor, manipulate the Senate, or curry favor with the city's factions, all while keeping a close eye on their corruption levels. The game is won by the player who has amassed the most extensive power structure, with victory points awarded for influence over the Senate, factions, Senators, and the Emperor's Favor. With its intricate gameplay and strategic depth, 100 A.D. is a challenging and engaging experience that will keep players on their toes, especially given its somewhat complicated rules that may take some time to learn. Designed by jim pinto and published in 2015, this game is perfect for fans of ancient history, politics, and strategic card games.
