Description
Trajan is a development game set in ancient Rome where players compete to increase their influence and power in various areas of Roman life. With a unique mechanism similar to Mancala, players take turns distributing pieces around their tableau, triggering actions such as building, trading, and military conquest. Each action brings opportunities to acquire victory points, but beware - this is a Stefan Feld design, and punishment is always a possibility. As you navigate the game, you'll need to balance your efforts to supply the demands of the public, acquire influence in the Senate, and expand your military control across Europe. With no necessary in-game text, Trajan is accessible to players of all languages, and its 60 to 120 minute playtime makes it a substantial and engaging experience for 2 to 4 players.
