Description
In Energy Quest, you're the big boss of an energy corporation, racing to develop the best energy sources and sell them for a profit. The game board is divided into two main types of properties: raw materials like coal and oil, and power sites where you can produce energy, such as electric stations. As the game progresses, the World Oil Price will rise steadily, but unpredictably, making some investments more profitable later on. You'll need to navigate the board, buying and selling energy, and accumulating kilowatt-hours (kWh) to come out on top. With simple rules that can be explained quickly, Energy Quest is easy to pick up, but challenging to master. You'll need to balance your dollars with your kWh, as you buy energy from other players and collect kWh receipts when you land on your own power sites or pass certain milestones. The game is all about strategy and timing, as you try to gauge how much to invest in kWh receipts as the game unfolds. With two to six players and a playtime of around 120 minutes, Energy Quest is a classic game of economic management and industry development that's still exciting today, over 40 years after its initial release in 1977.
