Unhappy King Charles is a game for two players that lets you decide whether the Commons or the Cavaliers will rule England. Players aim to control the country and its economy, defeating their opponents in battle and seizing control of local governments. The game is based on historical events and uses a card-driven system to recreate the feel of the English Civil War. Players must make do with the resources they have, using brigades of troops to form armies and garrisons, and navigating the challenges of supply and equipment. The game is played over eleven turns, with armies clashing in battles and players vying for control of key areas.
