Description

In Biotopes, you'll embark on a journey to create a thriving ecosystem, teeming with life and vibrant with activity. As you colonize the central landscape, you'll attract animal species and work to increase their populations, all while navigating the challenges of a dynamic environment. With a playtime of 45 to 90 minutes, and designed for 1 to 5 players, Biotopes offers a fun and engaging experience for board game enthusiasts of all levels. The game's normal complexity makes it easy for those familiar with board games to learn, and its unique mechanics, such as deck, bag, and pool building, will keep you on your toes. As you play through the game's cycles, you'll draw cubes from your bag and place them on your Biotope cards, representing the organic matter extracted from your soil by the plants in your ecosystem. You'll take turns expanding your territory, playing animal species cards, and optimizing your ecosystem to make it prosper. With the game's modular board and variable set-up, each playthrough will be unique, offering a fresh challenge every time. As the game comes to a close, you'll tally up your victory points, taking care to avoid a fragmented ecosystem, which can grant you penalties. Will you be able to create a thriving ecosystem and emerge victorious, or will your opponents outmaneuver you? In Biotopes, the fate of your ecosystem is in your hands.
