Description

Float Downstream is a game that invites you to embark on a meditative journey, where you'll navigate the twists and turns of life's river. With 36 unique river cards, each playthrough creates a poetic landscape that's different from the last, allowing you to slowly drift through and experience the beauty of the river. As you make your way downstream, you'll need to balance luck and strategy to avoid getting pulled under by the thought forms that arise, threatening to disrupt your peaceful journey. In this solo game, designed by Jeremy Dawson and released in 2023, death is inevitable, but the goal is to experience as much of life's poetry as possible before reaching the river's end. Your score is calculated based on the number and type of thought counters you've accumulated, with higher scores indicating a closer approach to enlightenment. With simple rules that can be explained quickly, Float Downstream is a game that can be played in as little as 10 minutes, but can also be savored for up to 30 minutes, making it a great fit for players looking for a thoughtful and engaging experience. As a print and play game, you can easily get started and begin your journey downstream, exploring the abstract strategy and card game mechanics that make this game so unique.
