Description

Get ready to build your railroad empire in 1833, a game of strategy and cunning for 2 to 6 players. In this card game, you'll compete to establish the most valuable railroad network by creating routes between major North American cities of the 19th Century. With simple rules that can be explained quickly, you'll be drawing cards and building your railroad connections in no time. But don't be fooled - the game requires careful planning and resource management, as your hand size is limited and unwanted cards can be tricky to get rid of. As you build your network, you'll need to think carefully about the type of locomotive to use for each route, as it will determine the route's level and value. You can also collect corporation cards to increase the value of your routes, but be aware that these cards come with a cost and will take up space in your hand. Private company cards can be used to connect otherwise unconnected cities, but at a cost to the route's value. With playtime ranging from 90 to 180 minutes, you'll have plenty of time to outmaneuver your opponents and emerge victorious. Designed by Greg Myers and published in 2018, 1833 is a thrilling game of deck, bag, and pool building, card drafting, and strategic planning that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
