Shadows of Brimstone: Other Worlds – Caverns of Cynder is an expansion that drops you into a hostile alien world, where lakes of molten magma and dark stone architecture set the stage for a thrilling adventure. As you delve into the Caverns of Cynder, you'll encounter a mix of industrious explorers, human and otherwise, who are attempting to mine the valuable dark stone from the rocky depths. But beware, for the corridors are teeming with foul creatures and the ever-present threat of eruptions and rising lava pools at your feet. With 18 new double-sided map tiles, new Encounter cards, artifacts, and Otherworld threats, this expansion offers a fresh and exciting experience for 1 to 4 players. The Cynder tiles introduce a new mechanism where you can take damage from passing over fiery spaces, but agile characters can roll two dice to avoid the heat. You'll also need to make strategic decisions about which clothing items to equip, as they can leave you susceptible to heat exhaustion and burning. With a playtime of 90 to 180 minutes, Shadows of Brimstone: Other Worlds – Caverns of Cynder is a cooperative game that challenges you to work together to survive the dangers of this alien world, using a combination of dice rolling, grid movement, and role-playing to overcome the obstacles in your path.
