Description

Raid on Richmond is a unique and challenging board game that drops you into the midst of the American Civil War, specifically into the shoes of US Brig. Gen. Judson Kilpatrick as he plans a daring raid on the Confederate capital in 1864. This game is a what-if simulation, where you get to explore the possibilities of what could have happened if Kilpatrick had gone through with his bold plan. With its easy-to-learn rules, you'll be quickly immersed in the action, navigating the accurate historical map of Richmond's city streets and blocks, using real map features to move your units. As you play, you'll be racing against time to release Union prisoners of war, inflict damage on key Rebel installations, and even have the opportunity to take out Confederate President Jefferson Davis. The game is full of tension and excitement, with slaves and panicked civilians filling the streets, and Confederate reinforcements closing in from all directions. Designed by Keith Poulter and first published in 1991, Raid on Richmond is a game that will keep you on the edge of your seat for its entire 360-minute playtime. With its combination of chit-pull system, dice rolling, and measurement movement, this game is a must-play for fans of wargames and the American Civil War.
