Description

Deus lo Vult is a board game that lets 2 to 4 players take on the roles of treacherous and greedy crusaders, all vying to loot the most treasure from the Holy Land. Published in 2020 by game designer Michael Badelin, this medieval-themed game draws inspiration from classic games played by the aristocracy of the time, such as shogi and backgammon. With its unique blend of area movement, deck building, and tile placement mechanics, Deus lo Vult offers a fun and challenging experience that's easy to learn but hard to master. As you navigate the grid, you'll need to manage your army's movements and battles while also hindering your opponents' progress using the shared army of Saracens. But that's not all - you'll also have to maintain your camp's amenities to keep your troops happy and healthy, because a outbreak of diarrhea can be just as deadly as a battle-axe to the head. Meanwhile, God is watching the Crusades closely, and Divine Will events can intervene at any moment, giving you opportunities to gain an advantage or curse your enemies. With a playtime of 30 to 120 minutes, Deus lo Vult is a game that can be played in a single evening, and its normal complexity level makes it accessible to anyone familiar with board games. The game's design and mechanics come together to create a thrilling experience that's all about plundering and strategy. With adjustable gameplay and a collective AI system that lets you share control over enemy units, Deus lo Vult offers a unique and dynamic experience each time you play. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or just looking for a new challenge, Deus lo Vult is a game that will keep you on the edge of your seat as you navigate the medieval world of crusades and conquests, all in the name of gaining the most treasure and emerging victorious.
